Company History

Marc Cain was founded by Helmut and Roland Schlotterer in 1973 near Bologna, in Italy. Named after a fictitious Italian couturier called Marc Cain, the label grew into a successful international fashion company with a turn over of more than 90 million euros. Despite this strong growth, Marc Cain’s design ethos has remained the same. The co-ordination and combination of fabrics, finishes and styles creates an individual, unique and distinctive look- The ‘Marc Cain’ look.

With Helmut Schlotterer remaining as the Managing Director and Karin Veit at the helm of design, the company is managed from its headquarters in Bodelhausen, Germany.
